In this four episode podcast series we share Iman’s journey as she delves into the supernatural beliefs that lie underneath the surface of the regular malay life. Studio Ghaib invites listeners together as we attempt to approach the scenes of black magic, traditional Islamic healing, and how it remains relevant to this day.
Iman may not have all the answers, but she’s eager to figure out about it through research and chats with experienced guests like her buddy, Ashraf and Ustazah Jannah!
Why This Topic?
For some of us growing up among the Malay communities, we recall talking about supernatural things during family gatherings and occasionally when we lepak with friends. But often the stories we hear are through online platforms and pop culture – like the case of Mona Fendi and Mh370. While we’ve heard of the terms saka, sihir, and jinn, we don’t really understand the differences – aren’t they the same? Also, as strange as it may seem, we wonder if supernatural and traditional healing is still relevant in today’s society.
So many questions that we are curious about. We hope that at the end of this journey, we would have gotten a greater knowledge of our ancestors' culture and have broadened our horizons about the art of the unseen.
